I am given pause by the words that were penned by the statesmen/patriots that put blood behind their ink. And I tremble at the the certain knowledge that very few recall anymore that:
1) This is the Declaration of Independence. 2) It has meaning that transcends its words and, 3) The very accusations detailed in that document; the charges against the King; if you will – are the selfsame accusations we can level against not only this administration; but the ones who have preceded it for a great many years. And against those in Congress as well.
I will not be a member of the blog-o-sphere who writes in a vacuum. I am a child of the 60s, a radical of a different sort. I am a patriot of a different caliber. (50bmg) I am as subtle as a flying mallet, and… to quote e.e. cummings….
“there is some shit I will not eat” (I sing of Olaf, glad and big)
The continued adventure of our government to suborn the law, and turn this republic into either a) anarchy, or; b) a dictatorship; sickens me. It apparently does not – yet, anyway – sicken the rest of the country into action. But my prayer is that it will. It is, tragically; to late to stop it. To use a well-known quote: “We aren’t voting ourselves out of this.”
There will indeed be a fight; and it will be for your family and friends; not simply liberty. It will be in your town, your church – your yard. It will be ugly, it will be hard, and it will be remorseless. It will be bloody, world history has seen nothing that we will be able to compare the destruction of the United States to. And that makes me angry; that my children will not live in the country I grew up in. But as Thomas Paine said; “if there is to be trouble, let it be in my day; that my children will know peace.”
Arm yourselves. Let’s win.
